ICSSR 10-Day Research Methodology Course 2026 at Central University of Karnataka

The Department of Economic Studies and Planning at the Central University of Karnataka (CUK), in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), is organizing a comprehensive 10-day “Research Methodology Course for M.Phil/Ph.D./PDF Scholars in the Social Sciences”.

This intensive program is designed to enhance academic writing, methodological rigour, and theoretical grounding for emerging scholars.

Key Highlights of the CUK Research Methodology Course

• Duration: 10 Days.
• Dates: 16th – 27th March 2026.
• Venue: Central University of Karnataka, Kalaburagi.
• Sponsor: ICSSR, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this course, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• ·         Must be currently enrolled in M.Phil., Ph.D., or Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF).
• ·         Candidates should be from UGC-recognized universities, deemed universities, colleges, or institutions of national importance.
• ·         Open to scholars from Social Science disciplines.

Intake and Selection Process

The course has a limited intake of 30 participants, divided as follows:

• Local Participants: 10 seats.
• Within Karnataka (Non-local): 10 seats.
• Outside Karnataka: 10 seats.

Major Themes Covered

The curriculum combines conceptual clarity with practical hands-on training:

• Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS): Research ethics and design based on IKS.
• Literature Review: Systematic Literature Review and Meta-Analysis using R.
• Advanced Statistics: Factor Analysis (FA), PCA, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).
• Econometrics & Digital Tools: Time series modeling and panel data analysis using EViews, STATA, R, and SPSS.
• AI in Research: Integration of Artificial Intelligence and digital tools for high-quality research.

Allowances & Facilities

• Accommodation: Provided to all selected participants.
• Travel Allowance (TA): Outstation participants will be reimbursed for Train (3rd AC/Sleeper) or Bus fare (shortest route).
• Limit: Maximum reimbursement is ₹1,000 per participant (to and fro).
• Note: No reimbursement for local conveyance.
