The vacancies are distributed across several uniformed services as follows:
1. Police Headquarters (PHQ)
- Constable IRBn: 236 Vacancies
- Constable Civil Police (Male): 216 Vacancies
- Constable Civil Police (Female): 170 Vacancies

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
Candidates must ensure they meet the following requirements before applying:
Educational Qualification
- For all posts: Candidates must have passed Class X (Matriculation) or its equivalent from a recognized board.
- Constable Band/Bugler: Must possess knowledge of playing the band or bugle.
- Staff Nurse: B.Sc Nursing and registered Nurse qualification is compulsory.
Age Limit (As of April 10, 2026)
- Constable Posts (IRBn/Civil): 18 to 22 years.
- Fireman & Special Tiger Guard: 18 to 32 years.
- Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for APST (Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe) candidates.
Physical Standards and Efficiency
Physical Standard Test (PST)
Meeting physical standards is mandatory; otherwise, the application will be rejected.
- Height (General Male): 165 cm.
- Height (General Female): 157 cm.
- Chest (Male): 79 cm (Normal) and 84 cm (Expanded).
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Qualified candidates from the written exam will be called in a 1:3 ratio for physical tests, including:
- 100 Metres Race
- 1500 Metres Race
- High Jump & Long Jump
Selection Process: 3-Stage Examination
Selection is based purely on merit through a three-stage process:
Stage 1: Written Examination (200 Marks)
An objective MCQ test with a duration of 2 hours. There is no negative marking.
- General Awareness: 50 Marks
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 Marks
- Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: 50 Marks
- English Language & Comprehension: 50 Marks
- Note: Minimum 33% marks are required to qualify.
Stage 2: PET, PST & Trade Test
Conducted for those who pass the written exam.
Stage 3: Medical Fitness Test
Mandatory for post codes 5/26 to 10/26.
